Dr. Vassilis Michalopoulos reflects on the complex nature of aesthetics, quoting E.P. Papanoutsou’s notion that aesthetics is a special relationship between our soul and the world. Defining “beautiful” is challenging because it is both subjective and objective; what one person finds beautiful, another may find indifferent or ugly. This lack of a clear definition suggests beauty is perceived differently by each individual.
