Prof. Dr. Taner Yiğit is a distinguished General Surgeon specializing in obesity surgery and advanced laparoscopic techniques. Born in Konya in 1967, he completed his medical education at Gülhane Military Medical Academy (GATA) and began his career as a medical lieutenant. He gained extensive experience in general surgery, serving in various military and academic positions. Prof. Dr. Yiğit further honed his expertise in obesity surgery during his time as a visiting professor at the University of Washington. He has held academic positions, including Professor at GATA, and contributed significantly to the field of bariatric surgery. Now retired from public service, Prof. Dr. Yiğit continues to be an active member of several prestigious medical associations.
