Dr. Banu Coşar completed his secondary education at Bornova Anadolu High School and Izmir Science High School, then graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1996. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Ankara Numune Education and Research Hospital (1997-2000) and received his cornea specialization training at Thomas Jefferson University Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia (2000-2001). He worked at Dünya Eye Hospital (2001-2002) and Haydarpasa Numune Education and Research Hospital (2002-2007). He was also the Medical Director of Haydarpasa Numune Eye Bank (2003-2007) and established the Eye Prosthesis Laboratory at the same hospital.
