Prof. Murat Topalan is a highly qualified reconstructive microsurgeon with a strong background in plastic and reconstructive surgery. He received his Medical Doctor degree in 1982 from Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine and completed his assistant education in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Istanbul University between 1986-1992. He became a specialist in aesthetic, plastic, and reconstructive surgery in 1992 and was later appointed as an Associate Professor in the department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. He has held visiting fellowships at several prestigious institutions, including the University of California, Los Angeles, and the University of Hong Kong. He has also worked as a clinical and research fellow in Germany and has held leadership positions in various Turkish medical associations, including the Turkish Reconstructive Microsurgery Association.
Prof. Murat Topalan is a highly qualified educator and researcher in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery. He holds a Certificate of Education as a Trainer Educator and has served as a jury member for Associate Professorship and Specialization exams. He has expertise in forensic matters and has given lectures to medical students (interns). As a professor faculty member at the Istanbul Medical Faculty Plastic, Reconstructive and Surgery Department, he has been actively involved in all scientific activities, clinical and polyclinical studies, and multidisciplinary meetings. He is also responsible for and a trainer of reconstructive microsurgery operations. Prof. Topalan is the founder of the Istanbul Medical Faculty Chronic Wound Council (Chronicwoundcouncil) and has been involved in the execution of research projects and theses. He is a TPRECD Assistant School Trainer and responsible and trainer for the Basic Microsurgery Courses.
